Kate confesses she 'misses' her pilot Prince

Despite the presence of a new man in her life – her pup Lupo – the Duchess of Cambridge is feeling lonely with her husband away.

On her visit to Leicester for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, she confessed as much to well-wishers.

When 30-year-old Laura Murphy enquired after Prince William – who is away on search and rescue duty in the Falklands, she told her: "He's well, but I'm missing him terribly".

Fortunately, her in-laws have rallied round to give her all the support she needs.

Thursday's visit to Leicester was her second outing with the Queen. Last week she accompanied her grandmother-in-law and the Duchess of Cornwall to an engagement at Fortnum & Mason in London.
