Giggles and games in Guernsey for fun-loving Charles and Camilla

20 JULY 2012

After gamely scaling an indoor climbing wall earlier in the week, Prince Charles was the life and soul of a youth event on Thursday.

The fun-loving royal threw himself into the 'parachute game' and tried his hand at spinning plates as he and his wife paid a visit to Saumarez Park in Guernsey.

Dressed in a three-piece suit, Charles didn't let his formal attire hamper his enjoyment. And both he and Camilla delighted locals as they enthusiastically joined in with the fun and games.

The Prince in particular seemed to enjoy the chance to run under the multi-coloured parachute silk which was held aloft by 22 children.

He was pictured laughing as he ran from one end to the other, closely followed by his smiling wife.

"Charles and Camilla were fantastic," youth service worker Mary O’Reilly said afterwards.

"This has been an amazing experience for the children – and I think they really enjoyed themselves too."

The couple's visit is part of the royal family's Diamond Jubilee tour celebrating the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

On Friday they will visit the islands of Sark and Alderney before heading back to the UK.
