Prince Harry 'bouncing' with excitement about beach volleyball02 FEBRUARY 2012
"I think the volleyball he will be taking part in isn't mixed. I have yet to tell him about that," said Prince Harry's top aide of his trip to Brazil.
The royal's private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton was explaining his itinerary for the visit to Rio de Janeiro on a trade mission for the government.
Harry, an ambassador for the Olympics, is to play beach volleyball to promote the 2012 Games in London.
He will also visit the world famous Cristo Redentor statue on Sugarloaf Mountain to launch the Great Campaign, which promotes Britain as a tourist destination.
The stop off in Rio will come after the Queen's grandson travels to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas to represent her at celebrations for her Diamond Jubilee.
"Through Prince Harry the Queen will be formally extending her good wishes to Belize, Bahamas and Jamaica on the historic occasion of her Diamond Jubilee," his private secretary said, adding that Harry was "really bouncing" about the tour.
In Jamaica, Olympic 100m champion Usain Bolt, will give him a training course in how to "start" a sprint. "I don’t think they will hare off round the track together, thankfully," joked his spokesman.
