Super-stylish Sophie shines in the Gibraltar sunshine13 JUNE 2012
With the focus on the current crop of young royal stars, other members of the family are sometimes overlooked.
But the Countess of Wessex is proving what a stalwart she is of the monarchy on her Jubilee trip to Gibraltar.
Elegantly turned out and charming to everybody she meets, Prince Edward’s wife is a real credit to the Queen.

The 47-year-old, who has remained gracious and kind despite the convtroversy surrounding her visit to the disputed territory, has shown off a series of lovely outfits during the couple's three-day tour to the territory.
Visiting the Botanical Gardens and the Naval Base, where a Royal Air Force plane performed a flypast, she was chic in a monochrome optical illusion shift dress.
The tight-fitting number, which she teamed with nude heels, highlighted her enviable physique and feminine curves.
Later the mother-of-two changed into a green and white fern-patterned number paired with a beige jacket and matching hat for a parade in honour of the Queen.
Her third choice was a Seventies style-patterned, capped sleeve dress, whose muted tones showed off her natural tan.
Sophie struggled to keep the skirt of her pretty frock down as it blew up in a gust of wind.
This prompted some commentators to describe it as a Marilyn Monroe moment, but it only served to highlight what fabulous pins she has.
